NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet says the Labor Party are “trying to be all things to all people” in the wake of its emissions reduction policy announcement.

Federal Opposition leader Anthony Albanese announced last week the Labor Party will take the policy of a net zero emissions target by 2050 to the next election. “What you have when it comes to emissions targets and climate change policy is a lot of rhetoric and not enough policy follow through,” he said.

Mr Perrottet told Sky News host Sharri Markson one day the Labor Party will be “out there touring coal fired power stations in Newcastle” and the next “they’re out at Extinction Rebellion rallies”. “We want to make sure that we move to a renewable future in a way that’s economically sustainable, financially responsible and at the same time secures our baseload power into the future”.

Perrottet: 'Labor Party will be “out there touring coal fired power stations in Newcastle” and the next “they’re out at Extinction Rebellion rallies”. Like what Zimmerman and Sharma say versus what Canavan says? Hypocrisy and LN/P top the charts in it.

I want more action on CC. In saying that this is a statement not a policy. Most states & counties have made the same statement yet the world's Co2 emmissions is actually increasing. We need more detail, the LNP might as well make the same statement it seems useless.

It's the NSW Government's policy too - or doesn't the treasurer know that
