Sky News host Rowan Dean says Labor’s new housing policy will see the state “part-owning your home”.

“This is introducing, by stealth, socialism into the young working millennials.”

The ‘Help to Buy’ scheme is intended to assist up to 10,000 middle income earners enter the housing market with smaller deposits and mortgages.

I would rather the government part own my home that pay a private landlord stupid amounts of money in rent . Sure I might only own 60% of the house , but 60% is better than 0%

So the state part owning your home is worse than a renter paying off somebody else's home ?

To late.

I’d rather the government own part of it than the banks all of it.

Sharp as a doughnut this Rowan guy. He's figured out that a shared equity scheme means the equity is shared.

At least they’re trying things, there’s a housing crisis, people are homeless and it’s getting worse with inflation

Haha yeah the rich call it ‘socialism’ when the government helps the poor but “capitalism’ when the governments helps us rich people get richer … thank god for ‘negative gearing’ lol

If it helps me get into the market, I don't give a shit if it's the bank or the state. In fact if it's the state, probably better than the bank.

Federal government intervention traditionally has no great effect. What will make a difference is if the numerous ALP State governments opened up broad areas of land for development. Nothing reduces cost faster than a surplus.

ABSOLUTELY 💯 TRUE LIP SERVICE AT THE PRESENT WHERE ARE THE DETAILS....ANYONE CAN PROMISE ANYTHING.🌹🌹

Rather that than none at all

No thanks

Rowan Dean only complains when government invests some small money in ordinary folk. Never heard a word spoken about billions of taxpayer money being handed over to businesses whose profits rose, under a poorly executed welfare payment scheme called 'job keeper'.

The king of 'well der' strikes again.

So?.. social housing was built on by Governments, successive Liberal Governments have sold off the stocks leading to housing shortages..

Currently it's the Bank.....

Rowena does realise Morrison has wanted to pursue this approach since 2008?

rowandean With News Corp/SKY pushing the line Affordable Housing = Socialism. It will be naive and stupid to think that people will buy that slogan to become a vote influencer.

And , they part own our wages so what’s the difference Roland

tell to all austrailians abandon microsoft time for new culture , operating system not serving its purpose, time not be narcist culture

fact check

Own nothing and be happy.
