SarahLVogler What a whole waste of tax payer’s money. Labor thinks good education is spelt with a $ sign.

SarahLVogler ****A WORLD CLASS EDUCATION SYSTEM**** This is one of the many World Class things Australia could have if we weren’t giving $100 Billion per year away to some of the richest people on the planet! in 2019 let's put this LNP lot last auspol

SarahLVogler Right after the lift the standards of politicians and journalists.

SarahLVogler Hardly likely that teaching standing will increase whilst the left are in control of our Universities!

SarahLVogler Pay teachers more! Incentivise the pay, lift the score for Uni entry and give teachers the dignity, respect and status they deserve. Then encourage & help YOUR children to study and comprehend the things the teachers are teaching, ditch the Naplan, then you'll see improvement 👍

SarahLVogler It’s a bit simplistic to look at one dimension. But it does explain the poor quality of journalism.

Low-scoring students to be barred from becoming teachers under Labor planIn a bid to improve results in the classroom, Tanya Plibersek says a Labor government would restrict entry to the top 30 per cent of students if the education sector does not take action sooner. The word she used was specifically 'restrict'. The word 'barred' has a totally different meaning altogether. Do better. Stop misrepresenting people and issues. Words matter. Low-scoring ATAR students will be barred from being teachers? So who will be teachers then? So short-sighted. If you're artificially setting an ATAR of 80, you'd better be upping wages to match professions also requiring 80.

Labor threatens cap on teaching degree numbers to address low ATAR entry scoresTanya Plibersek has warned universities to introduce higher standards and train up only the 'best and brightest' as the teachers of tomorrow. “Threatens” .. watch your language SMH. Suggesting a sensible look at standards is not a threat. The only way to make teaching meaningful is to stop bureaucratising teachers and allow them to teach specific groups, not statistical means. Fail for both ALP and Coalition in understanding education, let alone delivering it. 'Labor attacks universities'
