PRESS CONFERENCE: Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen says Labor will deliver bigger budget surpluses and bigger investments in health and education, while also assuming tax relief going forward.

Delivering the Labor Party’s policy costings on Friday, Mr Bowen said a Shorten-led Labor government would deliver a budget surplus 40 per cent larger than the Coalition's. He says the forecasts take into account all of Labor’s policies, spending and revenue, and the assumption that a Shorten Labor government will deliver further tax relief when the tax to GDP ratio is 24.3 per cent.

Bowenchris Yes by taking more off us. Costs will soar through wage rises as prices will rise to compensate as always. How is he going to help unemployed and pensioners cope. Time they learned higher wage means higher prices.

Bowenchris And Santa will now visit twice a year!!

Bowenchris Elections2019 are these people serious about 1.18 billion of foreign aid, 🇦🇺 is in drought and farmers DroughtMonitor are screaming for assistance and thousands homeless. Labor is the new Soros leftist socialist party.

Bowenchris With all the spending under your policies to win voters plus the promise to cut income tax, how do you plan to have a surplus? I am a keen to see your detailed plans!

Bowenchris Bigger investment in health and education means higher taxes for taxpayers. Intl coys will continue to use IFRS rules to minimize tax. Just like Rio and BHP. Surplussham ausvotes

Bowenchris Of course 8ts possible for them to do this, they are raping and pillaging our wages

Bowenchris Will they be like swan’s surpluses?

Bowenchris You keep bullshiting bowen

Bowenchris

Bowenchris Every single Australian should ask them selfs: do I want my taxpayers money spend on schools, hospitals, TAIF and so on creating jobs here for Australians, and better future for our children, and future of Australia. Or they prefer gave taxpayers money to multinasionals and rich

Bowenchris With expected higher taxes+death tax+ripping off retirees+past AWU fraud-high crime Vic-more immigration and this'Shorten got benefits for himself and AWU officials to the detriment of workers' who could possibly trust Labor Gov?

Bowenchris Please explain where all the cash is coming from? Retirees beware of this creep votelaborlast

Bowenchris Bowen is a career public servant who knows absolutely nothing about corporate and small to medium business. It’s like trusting a 6 year old to look after the lolly shop.

Bowenchris Biggers surplus, bigger investment, AND tax relief? I think someone messed up their maths. Check the spreadsheet again Chris!

Bowenchris They never had a dollar (of taxpayers money) they didn’t want to spend!

Bowenchris

Bowenchris Oh he popped up somewhere did he? Nice of him to introduce himself 😂

Bowenchris yea wayne swann was going to deliver surplusses for years. never happened and labor has not changed

Bowenchris Lies, lies & more lies. 😂😂😂😂

Bowenchris Bowenchris mine is bigger than yours without saying how is just a pi**ing competition.

Bowenchris Was there any mention of the cost of the climate change policy, no one seems to have mentioned it

Bowenchris

Bowenchris If it sounds too good to be true 🤔🇦🇺

Bowenchris Lol, in 2012 Bowen’s mentor SwannyQLD proudly announced “four surpluses” in his budget & dropped them 4 days before Xmas. Labor last delivered a surplus 30 yrs ago in ‘89 when Back to the future 2 premiered at the movies

Bowenchris Bigger taxes

Bowenchris And Pigs Fly

Bowenchris Why don’t they take the money from their Future Fund of which tax payers money creates, instead of taking from out Super Funds. What a pack of thieves.

Bowenchris

Bowenchris WT actual F ... why does this article not start with the sentence ... 30 years since labours last surplus, this sock puppet, thinks he can deliver one. I am no conspiracy theorist but come on ... the fact not one journalist has said this is gaslighting at its worst ...

Bowenchris Bill Shorten Labor pledges larger surpluses if elected 2007-13 Labor Chris Bowen claiming credit for a surplus that was never delivered. In fact in that year he delivered $54.5 billion deficit.
