The Labor Party is on track to secure a historic third term in Victoria after the Liberal Party failed to make any inroads in Melbourne’s east or key suburban seats, despite a swing against the Daniel Andrews-led Labor.
“Congratulations Daniel Andrews, what a great win,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese tweeted just before 9pm.Former tennis star and Liberal candidate Sam Groth will win back the seat of Nepean on the Mornington Peninsula for the Coalition, but the party has failed to make progress in other key seats including Ashwood, Pakenham, Ripon, Point Cook and Melton and the eastern suburb seats of Box Hill and Ringwood.
“At the moment it appears that Labor will win a majority,” ABC analyst Antony Green said. “It’s taken a bit of a hit in some seats.”
So all the effort that the put into denigrating Andrews and pushing up Guy was complete BS. In fact, it probably helped Dan because everyone could see through your lies.
Swing against Dan Andrews? There are absolutely zero evidence of that..swing against the Libs in traditional Lib heartland especially inner East should sound alarm bells to those pushing the centre-Right position of Libs too far towards those obnoxious Sky News afterdark crowd..
