Australia's mogul skiers are leading a surge in Australian winter sport talent and, one year on from their contrasting experiences at Beijing 2022, Jakara Anthony and Matt Graham say the best is yet to come.

Since then, Val Guseli has won the crystal globe as FIS snowboard Big Air World Cup winner, Alex Ferlazzo became the first Australian to win a Nations Cup luge event, Bree Walker and Sarah Blizzard scored a career best fifth in the two-women bobsled event at Winterberg and Ben Tudhope has claimed victories in the ParaAlpine World Cup.

"It's exciting times for Australian winter sports but I think we just have really good systems in Australia that are put in place, through the Australia Winter Institute, to really just help the team succeed and get the most out of the talent we have. "Obviously we're a small talent pool relative to the bigger nations, but we definitely punch above our weight as far as how well we can do.

"We have multiple medal contenders in multiple sports — that's pretty uncommon in in our discipline, let alone from a sun-drenched nation like Australia."

‘A real crisis’: More ‘financial support’ needed for cancer patients in rural AustraliaLeukaemia Foundation CEO Chris Tanti says there must be more “financial support” provided for cancer patients as people often have to sell assets to pay for treatment and transport, especially in regional Australia. This comes after Australia marks World Cancer Day. “There is a real crisis in regional, rural Australia when it comes to treatment for blood cancers,” Mr Tanti told Sky News Australia. “It can’t be done in smaller regional hospitals, it must be done in capital cities. “There is a 13 per cent survival disparity between those who are living in rural and regional Australia, and those who are living in metropolitan areas.” My sister passed away 6 months ago from Leukaemia after travelling every second day to hospital for treatment. It was time consuming and expensive for a pensioner. I can’t imagine how people in the regions cope. AlboMP Please act now for regional patients.
