While many in Melbourne are still buoyed from yesterday’s lockdown announcement, some are being punished by a tough rule.

The controversial 25km radius rule will continue to be enforced for another couple of weeks and it means that many Melburnians can’t visit their closest loved ones.show this morning 3AW’s Dee Dee Dunleavy said she didn’t want to be a “Debbie Downer” about yesterday’s lockdown-ending announcement, but that the 25km radius rule was taking a toll on her.

“I’m not an epidemiologist, but I can’t see what the difference is getting out of your car 25 kilometre from home and 50 kilometre from home which is where I want to go out and see my mum and dad.” “It’s why the border between regional Victoria and Melbourne will also remain in place – for a bit longer.”That would allow Melbourne to fall into line with regional Victoria’s restrictions.

Mr Andrews has often described it as necessary to prevent Melburnians from crossing over the city and spreading coronavirus.Victoria will finally reopen after the state recorded no new coronavirus cases for the first time in almost five months on Monday.

60% of my 25km range is regional. Stuck right on the border so I was looking forward to a easing of 25km restriction.

he is a big %$% covidiot

The rule is in till the 8th, so calm down.

Masks should only be required when you can’t socially distance, public transport, shops etc outside is pointless, I like fresh air.

'Not safe' to significantly relax rules in Melbourne yet, Daniel Andrews saysVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews delays announcing the next steps in Melbourne's re-opening, saying it is 'not safe' to significantly ease restrictions yet. It will never be safe as long as the same communities that continue to cause the issue can play victim and get away with it without any consequence. Much safer for Andrews to punish all of Melbourne. He had a meeting with 'islamic leaders ' yesterday , did he get it through to them that they need to isolate when they are infected or a close contact, because it seems to be an on going issue. Has he had to deal with other 'religious' leaders in regard to this virus ? Don’t blame DanielAndrewsMP ... blame the parents for sending their sick kid to school... 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

'A profound disappointment': Scott Morrison, business leaders criticise Victoria's delay on easing coronavirus rulesVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews' pause on COVID-19 rule easing has been pilloried by the Morrison government, Melbourne Lord Mayor Sally Capp and business groups. Morrison has done nothing at all in 2020. Building a cubby house and pimping bunnings and him cooking curry is nothing. He needs to either be a leader or resign. We all feel for the people in Melbourne. They are not helped by people in power, who think they are safe because their private healthcare will save them, pushing to open up too soon. This was the problem the first time round. The only profound disappointment is our lazy, part time, undermining, disempowering selfish pig of a Prime Minister who I cannot wait to vote out. Dog act.
