Tell me AGAIN WHY ARE WE IN AFGHANISTAN? Is it to Stop Them Coming Here like the Bullshit Story you told us about Vietnam

They are war criminals. No wonder suicide rates are so high among returned veterans

Died like a dog. He had just killed Australian soldiers and was running away. Sorry, not sorry. War is hell. Thank God our forefathers had the balls to carry out what they did.. If they could all by magic be here now, all 19 again, this world would quickly change for the better..

It’s war. What about pilots. What about the Navy. I know they try everything to minimise civilian casualties but it happens. This is more of the crap that those diggers went through and had their careers ruined and they were never charged.

SAS? Special forces include Commandos.

The SAS are the very point of our spear. I support whatever decisions they have to make in the heat of battle. It's easy to judge a soldier from the safety he provides you. It's harder to make life or death decisions quickly, under the threat of imminent death.

Wasn't it Aus. Special Forces flying a nazi flag on vehicles in Aghanistan too? Pieces seem to fit together. What a disgrace AND strategic disaster.

Go to war .. stand with those men ... then judge .... stand in their war boots ....

Very sad to see war crimes committed by SAS. An example must be made of the perpetrator/s to deter such crimes in future, and to uphold the moral standing and codes of the Australian forces.

There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.

Cue DirtyJacqui's confected soundbite rhetorics 'AUSTRALIANS know war be hard' blah blah blah. Gawd she's a fraud.

Please think about the fragile context and timing in which you release a news story like this. Yes it is a big story but give thought to the potential effects of this vision on the epidemic proportion of veterans suffering from PTSD.

This is a straight up war crime. We’ve always been America lite but this i s disgusting.

To all the know it alls here, if you watched the program you'd know tge accusations were made by an former soldier. Keep trying tho, it's fun to watch you froth at the ABC...

wikileaks

Do what you have to do soldier.

When they say 'support our troops' this is what they mean

Please take this photo down. I find it very distressing. The investigation into the acts does not require this photo to be shown over and over. Thanks

Bomb-maker = makes bombs = knows how to be explody I’d shoot him too. I wouldn’t ask either

Those attempting to justify the soldier’s actions clearly have no understanding of the Geneva Conventions, Customary International Law and the principle of Continuous Combat Function.

I can only imagine what white people did to the indigenous.

. “There is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of censorship.” .

An enemy that literally beheads our soldiers on camera and lectures about their imaginary religious nonsense while doing it. Not what I like to see, but I'm not spending too much of my sympathy here.

In paying these soldiers with our tax$ we become complicit in these disgusting war crimes

Too bad little Johnny Howard won't be held to account. It's on his watch we were there in the first place.

Context matters. Videos do not provide context. Perhaps it was a mercy killing.

This is simply inhuman.

A lot of assumptions made about what actually happens in that video.

Australia commits war crimes all the time idk why everyone is surprised all of a sudden

Should focus on justice for foreign hostages beheaded by Islamic soldiers.

We need more war crimes, not less. War crimes are cool.

This story is important and has to be told. But timing is appalling. At a time the nation needs to pull together you demonise the army. We may need them pretty soon. people are super stressed and won’t differentiate. Should have waited a little longer before broadcasting it...

Sorry I’m confused . Which country are you from & who do you represent? I am grateful to Australian soldiers putting their lives at risk every day to defend the freedom and life we have in Aus. I hope I never see a bomb strapping terrorist blowing up another child

Now imagine a scenario where Morrison deploys the ADF in Australian cities to protect vital supplies due to Coronavirus infections overwhelming emergency services. Could Australians trust our soldiers?

War - an excuse for govt to appear almighty and authorisation for a cohort of compromised soldiers to kill senselessly.

Extremely concerning. Adds to the despair & dismay at where our 'Aussie' culture is, and has been, since invasion. No respect, no empathy, no love.

F****** C****. All of them. The rules of engagement in the field are simply ignored.

It’s not surprising given the job these men have to do. It’s shocking nevertheless.

This is incredibly disturbing. we need this properly investigated - and by someone independent

But the puppets & slaves reiterate that invaders have come to help us to protect us,, instead of looking at the right side of mirror

When you train men to coldly kill people in wars and send them away to get shot at and bombed... They do tend to shoot people. We don't know the wider circumstances around this yet, though it doesn't look good. I wouldn't judge him myself.

Stop showing that footage! Here comes the AFP!

I thank ABC for spreading the truth about NATOscr war crimes in Afghanistan I hope other channels will spread these crimes So parents will know what their children did in Afghanistan And the next generation will read there parents history

Insufficient context disclosed in the article regarding any intel as to why that village was targeted. Why can't pharmaceutical companies grow their own poppies in greenhouses in Europe? It's a trillion-dollar industry. How will President Xi Jinping's Belt & Road influence it?

War is Hell.

Anyway AFG is still not gonna retire the handshake with the SAS and with the Australian diplomats coz an Afghan’s life is much cheaper than a $.

If these accusations have any truth, why hasn’t the soldier been charged? Nothing worse than armchair soldiers!

There are allot of brainwashed people here who apparently think murder/war crimes are ok? It is on video, the previous report is full of lies if correctly reported. The lesser of two evil card is also strong here. Atrocious all round!

War is war. Soldiers are trained to kill. Afghanistan remains lawless. By the time, you’ve second guessed someone, you’re dead. The ADF canine located its target. A question was asked. Afghan was eliminated. SAS will not pussy foot in a war zone. The Taliban fear lethal force.

I wish you people would stay the hell away from military affairs! You will never have the full story, so stop making assumptions & sullying our troops, haven't you learned from what you did to us in Vietnam?

Couldn't care less, these murdering pieces of human filth torture and behead men, women and children and when it gets tough they put down their weapons and suddenly become civilians. The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist, shoot them on sight.

Solider C is going to jail,

This is murder. ADF is covering up and our government let’s them get away with it. What animals. ScottMorrisonMP how do you sleep at night?!!!

1/2 One can be assured that those that feel the need to place heavy criticism and scorn on this soldier have either never worn a military uniform or have never engaged in close quarter combat.

I was quite impressed by Quake, the dog: well trained As to the operators, well in year 11 of a conflict if you are surprised by things like this I’d say you’re a bit naive As Latreguy says, there are 2 armies: one to do the fighting, the other to do the marching on parade

You have an industry that turns young vulnerable men into killing machines. WTF do you expect to happen when they are confronted with terrorists.

Well, I dunno if he’s a dodgey fucker and needed to be dealt with. It’s war. Never gonna be pretty, sanitised or marquis of queensbury... they are there to do a job. Crush the enemy. If you think you’re a better person, you go do the job.

I’m not surprised. We’ve seen other war crimes committed by western allies in the Middle East - why wouldn’t Aussies be involved in this shit.

The dude was trying to hide, who knows what was hidden in the wheat. I don't have a problem with it.

Amazing that Four Corners doesn't hold our enemies to the same standards of behaviour. Always providing succour to the enemy. That's why we pay the big bucks for the ABC against our will.

FMD....this is disgraceful.

AnthonyCole68 The ABC should be closed due to treason. Bunch of bastards who pray our country is taken over by the Middle East.

markwillacy Have you ever been to war? I haven’t. I’m tipping that if we had we may have a different perspective on this.

Embrace for another raid.

When country becomes occupied by many foreign military forces, the terrorist are not the people who live their....

They're TRAINED TO ENDURE AND TO KILL. That's it. Problem?

Who was the target? Was he a bomb maker, did he present something in his hands and has a history for bombs? We sent these boys to war and second guess their moves when it was their lives they risked.

thoe beiautiful tended fields and water ways, and our filthy Australian army terrorists do THAT! scum of the earth! I am glad ANZAC Day is called off - they deserve SPITTING ON!

war crimes! shame this is airing during covid19

This needs to be fully investigated.

Typical ABC bullshit click bait headline... Totally inconclusive evidence either way until the testimony + video from both soldiers and the Blackhawk crew are delivered in entirety. What actions lead to the SAS being in the area etc etc. Ever had a gun pointed at you? warzone🤔

so ashamed and disgusted by the SAS - always had a bad reputation. Nothing but terrorists.

War is messy. These guys are being hunted day and night and many have died. There is no context in this video. These hero’s very rarely have all of their successes publicised. Their actions save thousands of military and civilian men and women.

What the fuck

This is what WE did

No excuse for that. That bloke has to be put on trial.

It’s war. And of course theirABC can prove the enemy combatant was unarmed.

Yeah that's disgraceful. Our soldiers should be FAR better than this.

Can someone explain how this is being published and not against the same standards for which JULIAN ASSANGE is being grossly abused and destroyed by the very countries that commit these horrendous acts. These are tips of the iceberg, we need to know all of it.

It was bad, a true worrier won't kill an unarmed person.

Is this what the Fed Police we’re concerned about during their ABC raids last year?

JFHC!

Its one thing to kill someone that shooting at you. Its completely different to some one unarmed.

Why lock up psychopaths when you can send them overseas in an army uniform?

That is a terrible way to die. This man cannot go unpunished, this is a war crime and shows how disgusting some people can be.

It's war and these war hero been trained to capture and kill I have no right to judge their action period

Wow.

Do we need to see this?

Depends on who that person really is. If it's someone who thinks we all should die because we not follow their ways then good but it's an innocent civilian then terrible.

I don’t care how you justify this, it is a war crime. That man didn’t deserve to be killed like that. That soldier and his commander should go to jail

This is war...and soldier C needs to do hard gaol time for murder because...thats war

Armando73 These are Criminal Code charges.

This is war...and soldier C and anyone involved in a cover up need to do hard gaol time for murder or being an asassesory murder because...thats war.

In times of war unless you’re in the thick of it you should accept s&$ happens!

What's worse is the ADF cleared it and decided the killing was just. I respect our defence force but murder is murder. Covering up murder is equally guilty. Yes war is hell and the world is not perfect. It's a situation nobody wants to be in. But we're humans not animals.

That's the Australian warrior culture. Disgusting.

GregWRoss Howard's soldiers were war criminals - we always knew this. The war was illegal, based on lies. The SAS then told other soldiers if they disclosed, they'd be targeted. One of the white supremacists is now sitting in Parliament while another received a medal. Murderers!

Execution

Why on earth were we there in the first place? Australia has a bond with the Afghans, we even named a train after them.

Disturbing

The ABC making allegations of Afghan War Crimes when the Australian Special units and troops who are accused of it cannot defend themselves & while there is already an investigation on going is really really sad 😢.

Shameful.

Jesus. What if it was an ied? The soldiers would be dead. And who was the person they shot?

Was Senator Andrew James Molan, AO, DSC in any way involved / aware of the 4Corners exposure (16/03/2020) of Australian troops behavior in Afghanistan & if so, HOW?

That’s flat out Murder

Just terrible

Wonder what the alleged war-criminal Ben Roberts-Smith has to say about this video.

It’s war.

nothing like the australian government investigating australian soliders after complaints of the 'enemy', why would anyone want to serve in these pointless wars

This is not surprising.

WTF Australia

Words cannot express my gut-wrenching disappointment in the actions of our soldiers in the video.

Could a Jihadist terrorist attack be considered a mass execution?

'Testing, dangerous period' ahead for Morrison govt | Sky News AustraliaThe Morrison Government is facing a “testing, dangerous period” as the Australian community becomes further impacted by the spread of COVID-19, The Australian’s Editor-at-Large Paul Kelly says. \n\nWhile the Coalition has been praised for its handling of the virus thus far, it has been criticised for the slow rollout of a public information campaign. \n\nMr Kelly said the information campaign had been “far too slow” to roll out and for perceived mixed messaging. \n\n“The Australian public will find the normal modes of behaviour will be increasingly disrupted and impacted due to the spreading virus,” he said. \n\n“The government needs to be careful because there has been an increasing sentiment that perhaps Australia ought to be doing more, or to be taking stronger action.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia Not enough test kits to test for wider community transmission that is clearly happening.
