Analysis: The cunning in Scott Morrison's election strategy can be measured by the tightening of the opinion polls in just five weeks auspol

The cunning in Scott Morrison's election strategy can be measured by the tightening of the opinion polls in just five weeks.

The Coalition's gain in two-party terms, from 48 to 49 per cent, is within the margin of error of 2.3 per cent for this survey. The high support for the Greens in this survey, 13 per cent, should be treated with caution. The party gained 10 per cent at the last election and other surveys show it is still close to that figure. The Labor primary vote of 33 per cent is also out of line with other polls, although several surveys show a recent weakness in this core support.

After the SMH published an article today telling people to vote for Shorten. This paper has not one shred of impartiality. It is no better than Newscorp

cunning = lying

Morrison is running as Trump. Trumpian levels of lies and scare campaigns to protect tax loophole for the rich and $77B to cut taxes for the rich even further. auspol ausvotes

Sorry, but SloMo's already lost. Sportsbet have already paid out all Labor backed bets... Is that Amanda Vandstone I hear singing in the distant yonder....

Assuming the poles haven't been fudged/seasonally adjusted to get the impression of tightening in the hope of making it real.

Shortening the odds: the woman humanising Bill's bid for The LodgeIf Bill Shorten wins next weekend’s federal election, his will be the first blended family in The Lodge. Managing that transition will be wife Chloe, a campaign-trail asset happy to serve up the smiles, but decidedly less willing to cater for serious scrutiny. This is Australia. We don't have first ladies. Who is she? She is gorgeous Well, we would not use lady, because it infers a higher class or social status, would we. We’d say woman.

KAK explodes: Bill Shorten winning will ‘end life as we know it’Television star Kerri-Anne Kennerley has launched a ferocious attack on Bill Shorten, making the fairly significant call that he would spark an “end to life as we know it” if he wins. Good. Life as we know it sucks for too many people. Desperate much. Doesn't matter who wins, life as we know it is always going to end, if only to appease the minority every time.
