Scott McLaughlin has bounced back from the biggest IndyCar controversy in years to win at Barber Motorsport s Park, holding on despite fearing a fallen mannequin had ruined the race. The Supercars great was caught up in Team Penske’s push-to-pass manipulation saga last week, losing a podium finish from earlier this season, but brushed it aside to claim victory at the Alabama circuit on Sunday.
Mannequin struck by IndyCar after falling next to track “It was a little emotional for sure,” McLaughlin said after winning at Barber for the second year in a row. “It’s just nice. It was just a nice cap after obviously it was a pretty tough week. “We just had to keep rolling ... We know our job. We know what we need to do. I’m just super proud of our execution.
