Thousands have braved the cold to honour the memory of all Australians who have served at home and abroad at dawn services across the country.

Australians old and young woke up at the crack of dawn to honour Anzac soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country. Dawn services have taken place around the nation to commemorate Anzac Day while 3000 km north of Canberra, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese finished the Kokoda Track in solidarity with his Papua New Guinean counterpart. Albanese honoured the sacrifice of those who served along the mountainous trail, as well as those who served in other conflicts.

There will be a RAAF flyover at 9:44am and a Last Post ceremony at the commemorative area of the war memorial at 4:30pm. The dawn service began at 4.28am at Brisbane City's Shrine of Remembrance at Anzac Square. A parade on Adelaide Street, between George Street and Creek Street, will follow from 9.45am. The dawn service began at the Cenotaph in Hyde Park, Martin Place at 4:23am.
