A team of Australian researchers is a step closer to understanding one of COVID-19’s most enduring mysteries: why children rarely get as suck as adults. Melissa Cunningham reports covid covid19 coronavirus lockdown vaccine

Justin McManus.

When Francesca Orsini noticed her daughter Beatrice had a runny nose last winter her thoughts turned to her family in Italy who were engulfed in a devastating coronavirus outbreak which had killed thousands. “We knew immediately that we had the virus too,” the biostatistician said. Their then one-year-old daughter Camilla also had the virus, despite not showing any symptoms before being tested.

“It has really suggested to us that children’s innate immune cells are quickly migrating to infection sites and quickly clearing the virus before it has a chance to really take hold,” Dr Neeland said. The findings back up mounting global research that suggests younger children have more robust immune systems, meaning their bodies can fight the virus more quickly than adults’ bodies.

I reckon you 'suck'

Suck?

You blaming autocorrect for this?

Please fix the typo I assume you mean “sick”

Editors!

It ‘sucks’ when you get suck 😜😜😜

It's because they have hyperactive immune systems. Your chance of dying goes up significantly the older you get. Clearly the lethality of the virus is related more to the underlying immune system, not the nature of the virus in and of itself.

Suck or sick? 🤔

Up to 80% of the population are 'non-susceptible' to corona virus infection, according to Prof. Karl Friston (UK). That's how good the human immune system is generally. We don't need mass vaccination - especially when it injures and kills people.

Sucky sucky

They are just now approving vaccine for children...

Sounds like that tweet originated from New Zealand

A NZ study? 😂

interesting that the effects for 1918 and 1956 flu epidemics were the reverse of that for covid

Obviously a NZ story.

'..Suck as adults.' Oops the sub editing at 9 newspapers is all it could be. TI doh

Immune system protects children from severe COVID-19, Australian study findsA team of Australian researchers is a step closer to understanding one of COVID-19’s most enduring mysteries: why children do not generally get as sick as adults. In other breaking news, the heart pumps blood. would be interesting to see if there is a difference between vaccinated (as in MMR etc) and unvaccinated children. Will be the same for any adult who has managed to avoid having their immune system destroyed by pharmaceutical toxins .. especially previous vaccines, which are the primary cause of secondary health conditions.
