Australia's most prolific tryscorer at World Cups, Drew Mitchell, says there is risk associated with bringing Reece Hodge straight back from suspension | tomdecent

Speaking on Sunday, Hodge said he had learned his lesson and was eager to be back in the selection frame.

One could sympathise with Hodge if selectors feel Petaia, the 19-year-old next big thing in Australian rugby, has done enough in a couple of 40 and 60-minute showings against Uruguay and Georgia to remain in the starting XV. “He’s an amazing player himself and the three or four of us can learn a fair bit from him as well,” Hodge said. “It’s been an enjoyable three of four weeks being able to share things on and off the field as the back-three group.”While Hodge can consider himself lucky to not be sent from the field in Sapporo, given World Rugby later deemed his hit met a red-card threshold, the World Cup continues to be marred by send-offs.

Good where is IzzyFolau bring him back NOW. We’re further behind those teams than we’ve ever been. I’d be surprised if we don’t get a pasting from the poms. They lead the world in yellow cards! That's a plus surely.
