He criticised Israel's Folau's actions as selfish, but Will Genia admits feeling sorry for the banished Wallabies superstar and sad he is likely to be lost to rugby forever.

"I can't really speak on other people's behalf, but from my perspective there's nothing you can really do about it," Genia said."As sad as it is, at least there's been some sort of conclusion to what's happened and guys can learn from it and move on and do their best to understand why."

The Reds outscored the Tahs six tries to four on the night, but some smart goalkicking from Bernard Foley, who nailed eight of nine shots at goal, proved the difference. The Brisbane squad is similar to the one that assembled at the last two camps, based on last year's Spring Tour squad, but with additions such as Quade Cooper, James Slipper and Luke Jones.

The current reelected government would think of something to protect that sort of freedom of speech...

So now Israel Folau is the victim?.

How many generations have they prayed to the Middle Eastern white God preaching hate to diversity? And this is what they get now? Nothing!

List to the game what a load of shite. Mr F did this on purpose to get a pay out so he could take up being a preacher as he was a coward and didn’t know how else to get out of a signed contract.

Rubbish it's freedom of speech which everyone is entitled to do so .

Rubbish genia

I feel terrible for the Wallabys as a whole but dont feel sorry he is a footballer first, all he had to do was stick to that and keep his personal beliefs and views to himself. He knew what would happen if he did express his views and has paid the price. He was not a team player

But someone's feelings were hurt!

Well now he can tell all us sinners how to repent and perhaps inform gays etc how to revert to whatever - height of ignorance mate- you going retrain homosexuality and lesbians And advise all sponsors what to think

Sad? He was pre warned.Reality has kicked in.I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Rugby and Israel Folau: no longer a union made in heavenIsrael Folau, Super Rugby's all-time leading tryscorer, had ample freedom to practise and preach as he liked. Then he crossed the line. Twice. geerob So 'preaching' means 'behind closed doors'? Consenting-adults-in-private behaviour? What about 'bearing witness to one's faith' - an obligation on all Christians? geerob if you think he's disappointed now - wait till he turns up at the Pearly Gates and finds there's nothing there. geerob Christians have always been against diversity as preached by their white God 2,000 years ago in his Native Middle East.

Folau 'saddened' by sacking, considering his optionThe independent three-person panel has found Rugby Australia has grounds to terminate Folau's employment in relation to his social media post. If you don’t like his tweets don’t read them! It’s his personal twitter account! Anyone who has been on IzzyFolau twitter would realise its highly religious and quotes from the bible! So if the bible offends you don’t read it! This is a disgrace! With a bit of luck, that’ll be the last we hear from him. Doubt we’ll be that lucky. Good on him and Alan Jones and Mark Latham for standing up for freedom of speech while we still have it

I've been to hell already, Israel Folau, thanks to people like youA gay writer appeals to the rugby star and politicians to consider the damage they do to vulnerable young Australians. But he did it “in love” so he’s justified himself from the hurt he contributes to. Hell is watching him fuck up a match lmao Folau expresses an ideological opinion as exposed in a book purported to be the words of a divine superbeing; this is his superstition and so be it; how can one be offended by someone's superstitions?; Australians have a right to believe what they want as well as the right not to

Contract debacle that left rugby vulnerable in Folau stormRaelene Castle could be on the verge of a massive, if costly, victory in the Israel Folau saga. But the administrator's missteps will not be overlooked. geerob ...Folau will win this at law and will be a significant benchmark case in regards to freedom of belief and expression; if people think that a superstitious being has it in for someone based on what they do then so be it; who cares geerob I remain confused. Not so much by the story (the absurdity of that is clear!) but why news agencies keep using Vicar of Dibley photos when writing about this story - is it a Christian thing? geerob So a clusterfuck all round IzzyFolau raelenecastle
