Canberra's new public transport system receives mixed reviews on day one.

Some commuters took to social media to voice their support for the changes.

Tania Ezra said the changes improved her situation, they simply had not been effectively communicated."But I have to say that the new service to her school and surrounding primary schools was not well advertised. So I'm not sure how many kids will use the service."Others, like Tess Gifford, expressed a now familiar sentiment that changes to school buses would mean longer commutes for some students, often on public services.

"My daughter's dedicated school bus has been cancelled, a bus that is normally full of school kids," she said. "The alternative by public bus would include an interchange stop with one minute between services and extra time added to her morning commute. "She's 12 and only just started catching the bus last term so is not confident, nor do I feel safe or confident, to use this alternative.Alex Elliott said his bus to work has been cancelled, meaning a much longer journey for him on foot each morning."The nearest stop is now a 26-minute walk along the side of a narrow 80km/h road."Would like to see Meegan Fitzharris do this every day especially on those very hot or very cold and rainy days.
