Commuters in Sydney’s inner-west are experiencing public transport delays after urgent signal equipment repairs on multiple train lines shut down several services. 9News

Commuters in Sydney’s inner-west are experiencing public transport delays after urgent signal equipment repairs on multiple train lines shut down several services.

Transport NSW this morning confirmed repairs on the T1 North Shore, Northern and Western Line were taking place between Strathfield and Ashfield. The urgent repairs, which took around an hour to complete, meant train services’ planned stops and arrival platforms were subject to change at short notice.

Replacement buses have since been put in place between Redfern, Strathfield and Lidcombe to help cover the delays to the network caused by the repairs. Transport NSW also confirmed about 7am that train scheduled train services travelling to and from Berowra will this morning start and finish at Hornsby in an effort to cover the delays to the network timetable.

It is believed the repairs have also affected the T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown, T8 Airport & South, T9 Northern, Blue Mountains, Central Coast & Newcastle lines.
