ANALYSIS: How the Groundhog Day grind of lockdown scrambles your memory and sense of time

Because my memory has linked all the various aspects of this event together, when I experience a piece of that event , it prompts my memory to recall all the other aspects of the event too, triggering a reconstruction in my head of that time a strange cat walked into my house.becomes harder to find a memory with those cues

That's why we often have the best memory for events that occur in different contexts. Imagine you go on holiday and spend an amazing week in the Caribbean. Among your entire lifetime's memories, relatively few of them happened in the Caribbean, so it's easy to remember what you did on your holiday. Fortunately for us, our minds are very good at constructing concepts we can't directly measure. Our eyes can’t measure depth directly — instead, we estimate it with the help of cues in our surrounding environment.

Lockdown scrambles your memory and sense of time? What a load of garbage? Just pick yourself up off the floor and get on with it for crying out loud. It's not as if were in the middle of an apocalypse! There is a ending in sight. Aim for that and get the bloody jab!

Kinda of agree....I often say 'Remember last year when we' but it was actually 2019...it's like 2020 was lived in a vacuum and I've blocked it out. Everything happened 2 years ago!

Imagine what is happening to refugees in forever lockdown. Unconscionable behaviour from Australian govt refugees auspol

JennieDuke The crash in three years will be mayhem. Can't wait. JennieDuke About time there was a rise. $1.4M median far too cheap. Needs to be over $2M. JennieDuke Stop reporting misleading forecast. What happened in March 2021 can’t be a basis for the rest of the year. Also, this is going to be a huge issue come election.
