Far-right and anti-vaccine movements in the United States are bent on trying to 'save Australia', and experts fear their conspiratorial rhetoric may take hold here.

Cam Smith, an independent researcher who focuses on conspiracy theorists and the far-right, said misinformation about Australia has become another front in culture wars within the US.

Kaz Ross, an independent researcher of far-right extremism and conspiracy theories in Australia, said footage of police violence at the heated Melbourne protests earlier this year has gone viral among conservative US commentators. “And I think we're already starting to see that here and people starting to say ‘what if they steal the election?’”Dr Ross said while observing the protests in Ballarat last Sunday, she heard protesters discussing electoral fraud.“They were saying things like 'maybe we should take pens to the polling booth because maybe if we use a pencil, they can change our votes'.”

"His political strategy was very social media focused. He was prepared to lie, to say any old rubbish and use social media to create anger, division and hatred."

Fwits

Take hold here? Bit late…..

Oops, missed that bus, 95% of the population (in Vic) are now vaccinated and don't give a stuff what nonsense the anti vaxers are saying about it.

The dumbing down of Australia by the American Dummy’s! 🤔

Combining Far right and Vaccine hesitancy is a dog act. I thought SBS wasn’t corporate media

Supported by Scott.

'May'... 'Experts' The horse had bolted!

Help help.... the vassal is completely out of control....help help save the Australian citizens from this govt

If you read the findings into Victorian hotel quarantine inquiry 2020, people were treated like prisoners, not a health response. Any quarantine facility where people are detained within razor wire fences and locked doors is a prison by definition ?

Is it the 'right' or the 'Far right'?

Antifa and getup did

Don't forget Nazi officials were prosecuted at Nuremberg for equivalent crimes & at the time medical professionals & govt officials received a death penalty, most were hanged. mRNA injections & situations around those are equivalent to the crimes Nazi Germany officials committed.

The people who are protesting to save Australia, are same people who are protesting covax mandates in USA also. Although there are some extreme people, vast majority are people who are standing up for liberty & human rights.

Breaches of law occurred as it pertains to: medical treatment, quarantine, type of technology used (mRNA & other experimental gene therapies are illegal in Australia & many other countries as a therapy & obviously injections without consent), injuries, & individual violations.

Sue for: lies (ie. 100% effective against covid) about mRNA injections, failure to provide facts about mRNA (ie. gene therapy), mandates of experimental mRNA injection, coercion &/or harassment to be injected, failure to do the job (ie federal quarantine), injuries &/or deaths.

Further, unions & legal firms ought to establish class action law suits over coercion & harassment to be injected with what is still experimental mRNA injections. Sue any party which lied about safety of such injections & who lied as to the nature of such injections.

Legal firms ought to establish class action lawsuits & sue business organizations & govts over injuries caused by covax & over covax mandates & over failure by federal govt & state govts to provide proper quarantine facilities which would effectively keep the virus out of Aust.

It was already happening in the shadows. It’s only now it has come to light to the Australian public. The feds already knew, they have been talking about domestic terrorism and the far right for years. But having a LNP in power meant most of it was ignored by them until sum1 dies

We should be more worried about the far-left dictators pushing Vaccine mandates .

What an insult to address the 100s and 1000s of citizens who choose not to obey the coercion narrative as 'conspiratorial'. Wake up media and listen to the people. Have the balls to report the truth and the voice of the people. Truth over money and your job security.

Vaccination rates are high. These people are just an angry highly-vocal minority.

We are in a prison didn't ya know?! 😂😂😂

IntestinalWorm Dummies gotta dumb

LNP is supporting a dangerous violent trend by allowing the MP's to pose for pictures with anti vaxxers spurred on by stolen election lies by MurdochGutterMedia brainwashing white supremacist right wing minority in USA that led to CapitolRiot MurdochRoyalCommission BEWARE

We’ve imported everything else😎

A lot of left leaning people in US are against what is happening here as well. Check Breaking Point for one.

Is this the Australia we want? No. Get off Twitter occasionally, speak to your friends. This has to stop.

I blame this on LNP. The buck stops there. We need to vote Labor in, call election ASAP.

This is revolting journalism

'Ever since the pandemic began'? It goes back further than that.

Australia looks like became far- right international base in the near future!

The real sheeple

Trump? Berejiklian and LNP. It runs in the right.?

It will only attract the mental pigmies.

I don't think so A thousand covidiots at 'protests ' I'm Melbourne is not ' taking off' 6.6 million in Victoria Don't put them in the category of thd looney tune brigade. Maybe if our 4th estate and certain politicians stopped giving these imbeciles a platform, theyd fade away🤔

It takes a few fruit loops to ruin everything.

Now I know that SBS wants to associate the far right with anti-viccine. So I want to know who the far left is? Hitler was a far left in the first place, as evidenced by the German Volkswagen.

The declining trust in leadership because of idiots like Abbott and Morison, the constant large corporation corruptions and dismissal of concerns, it’s not surprising people are desperate enough to follow anyone else. We need better politics and accountable companies.

Supported by LNP MPs and newscorpaus .

It's been a long drawn theory that Australia always follows U.S.A.

Is that the Australia 🇦🇹 near Switzerland & Germany? Have they seen our quintessential cowboy? 🤠 AmericanIdiot

No it’s only the rwnj’s that listen to these American turkeys and they are a minority. Numbers are dwindling fast as covid takes hold. The allpissandpuffmob are just that.

Shame we’re not all taught at school to ask repeatedly of ourselves & of others, “How do you know?” & “What do you mean?” Maybe then we’d all be less enthusiastic about throwing words around carelessly just to be part of the yes-crowd.

Sorry, Aussies.

Our American Christian brothers are here with us.

Fear? It's already taken a hold here.

George Christensen condemned for appearance on US conspiracy theorist showThe Coalition backbencher has been reprimanded by his own party for supporting comments likening Australia's COVID-19 measures to Auschwitz and the Tiananmen Square massacre. I'm all for his right to speak even though I disagree with him. I'd be curious to know how ideologies like these make society a better place though, they seem very negative and problem focussed to me.
