The weather bureau has warned of temperatures reaching the high 30s to low 40s for most of the southeast and central districts.
“Monday looking to be the peak heat day and that’s where we’ll see temperatures get up to the high 30s and even the low 40s for parts of the southeast and central districts of Queensland,” he said. “On Monday, in the western parts of Brisbane and along the coast to places like Gladstone and Bundaberg, we’ll see temperatures of 36C to 38C, but further inland we will see places like Rockhampton crack 40C.”
We’ve hardly had a hot day this year.
