Several storms are sweeping through Queensland, bringing rain, hail and lightning to a vast area from the Gold Coast to as far north as the Central Highlands.
The storms created havoc on the roads, with rain causing localised flooding in Brisbane at Woolloongabba, Moorooka and Salisbury, stranding several cars. The RACQ urged motorists to stay off the road during the worst of the storms, but not to seek safety under any trees that could be brought down by heavy winds.
