One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says "if anything, I blame the Greens and the Labor Party" for contributing to the severity of the bushfire crisis gripping the nation. Ms Hanson said left-leaning political parties contributed to the severity of the bushfires by opposing fire reduction practices such as burn-offs that would clear fire 'fuel'.
Fuel is live and dead vegetation, including twigs, leaves and bark, that accumulates over time. "They are the ones to blame for all this," Ms Hanson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. "As long as people keep voting for them we're going to have these horrific bushfires because the fuel is there to make it worse," Ms Hanson said. "They won't allow the farmers to actually clean up their own properties".
