Underworld figure Ghassan Amoun, brother of notorious Brothers 4 Life founder Bassam Hamzy, has been arrested for allegedly breaching a sweeping court order aimed at suppressing a gang feud in south-west Sydney.
Mr Amoun, 34, was one of four men hit with serious crime prevention orders in December in response to an escalating conflict between the Hamzy and Alameddine crime families, with the tensions allegedly related to control of the illicit drug trade.Kate Geraghty, Nine News The orders, issued by the Supreme Court, imposed comprehensive controls over the men’s activities, including preventing the use of encrypted communications, having more than $10,000 cash, and speaking with known associates and rivals.
Police allege Mr Amoun breached his order by having multiple mobile devices and failing to provide his correct vehicle information.Strike Force Raptor officers arrested him in Auburn on Wednesday and charged him with two counts of contravening the serious crime prevention order.
