Perth General Practitioner Dr Brett Montgomery says GPs are feeling “underprepared” during the current coronavirus outbreak “because they don’t have personal protective equipment they need in order to safely see such patients”.

Dr Montgomery told Sky News he was “concerned” by WA Health Minister Roger Cook’s reported “comments that GPs who felt unable to see patients who were presenting worries about coronavirus”.

“That in doing so, such GPs were breaching their legal and moral duties… They want to see their patients, but they also want to protect the wellness of patients in their waiting room, and their staff, and their families,” he said. “State governments are responsible for hospitals, federal governments are responsible for general practice and we’ve seen very little provision of personal protective equipment from the federal government.

Is he talking all GP's? I would have thought if a GP can not keep their patients safe then they should not be seeing patients. If all Australian GP's are not getting protective equipment then we have a major problem, is that the case?
