US Vice President Mike Pence has confirmed a cruise ship containing infected coronavirus patients will dock at a non-commercial port in California over the weekend.

US Vice President Mike Pence has confirmed a cruise ship containing infected coronavirus patients docked at a non-commercial port in California at the weekend. Over 3500 hundred passengers and crew aboard will be tested for the disease on arrival and quarantined if necessary.

The outbreak is linked to a passenger from a previous tour, a 71-year-old Californian man with underlying health issues, who died on Wednesday after he contracted the virus in February. Of the 46 people on board already tested, 19 crew and 2 passengers were confirmed to have contracted the virus. Australian health authorities will work out a plan with their US counterparts on Sunday regarding the four Australians trapped aboard the vessel.
