"Now the public really is not interested in spats between the commonwealth and the states. "They are interested in one, getting vaccinated and all people that should be vaccinated getting vaccinated and more to the point opening up the borders so we can get on with our lives. "And that's where we really need to put our foot on the gas here."

Only 3% of the population of Australia is fully vaccinated.

'Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells ... '

Vaccine acquisition is & always has been a federal responsibility. So how does one have a spat about the rollout of something that doesn't exist? Fed LNP deflection...as usual.

'Vaccinate the vulnerable' and 'look towards opening up again' | Sky News AustraliaUNSW Economist Gigi Foster says the whole 'rigmarole' government's response to COVID cases will not be 'sustainable' once international borders open and cases start to emerge.\n\n'One thing I am a bit worried about with this NSW response is that there is so much effort going into the contact tracing and the additional mask wearing and the changes to business which are still very disruptive – even if the whole state is still not locked down,' she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.\n\n'Are we going to go through that whole rigmarole when we open international borders and we start seeing COVID cases? It just wont be sustainable.\n\n'So I do feel that the vaccinations are something that can be used to protect the country, protect particularly the vulnerable people, the people most likely to get symptoms and potentially die from this virus. \n\n'And, as one in a basket of tools that we should now be looking towards in order to make the case that it's time to get open again, because if we don't other countries will and we will get left behind.' Only an economist could describe keeping people alive until we get vaccinated as 'rigmarole' Sensible public health experts might describe it differently. Gigi seems to have missed that the 'vulnerable' are now very much a shifting target with new strains. How will BigPharma cash in the most if only the frail and the very old get the jab? Victoria closes border to parts of Sydney | Sky News AustraliaThe Victorian Government will close its borders to seven local government areas in Sydney from 1 AM tomorrow morning. \n\nIt comes after the City of Sydney, Waverly, Woollahra, Bayside, Canada Bay, Inner West, and Randwick were classified as 'Red Zones'. \n\nIt means non-Victorian residents who have been in those LGA's in the past two weeks are banned from entering the state. \n\nVictorians returning home from the red zone areas can apply for a permit but will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days at home. \n\nWollongong has also re-classified as an Orange Zone, requiring travellers to get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result. Australia is turning into a hermit nation. They would actually be most susceptible to covid once they do open because they have absolutely no natural immunity. Gold standard. Lol

SA closes border to NSW amid concerns over COVID outbreak | Sky News AustraliaSouth Australian Premier Steven Marshall has announced the state will close its border to New South Wales under level six restrictions effective immediately. \n\nIt comes after Western Australia restored its hard border due to the growing COVID-19 outbreak in NSW.\n\n“I think by now most people would have realised that the situation in New South Wales is deteriorating, there are additional exposure sites and the number of new infections has increased,” Mr Marshall said.\n\nHe said in addition to the restrictions, there will be a one-hundred kilometre buffer along the SA-NSW border to provide relief to nearby communities. \n What an absolute joke that someone from the border “bubble” in NSW can come and go as they please but a SA resident that has been in the bubble or intends to go to the bubble has to isolate for 14 days on return to SA. . Incompetent Gladys. If Gladys had've contained this outbreak to Sydney's Eastern Suburbs the rest of us would be ok. But she criticises other states so much she can't make good decisions. Too much of a politician and nit enough of a leader. As I see , this liberal territory leader of SA is not liberal , but a labour party person in disguise , any WA movement , he copyed like Qld
