The surplus may be in doubt, but Scott Morrison has made the “big and right” calls on the handling of the coronavirus, according to Sky News hosts Kieran Gilbert and Andrew Clennell. Mr Clennell said with every day it becomes “clear” the travel ban was the right measure to take, despite the significant hit to the economy.

“I think we have to say Prime Minister Scott Morrison has had a torrid summer over his handling of fires and handing in a lot of political issues, but when it comes to the coronavirus, he has handled it very well indeed,” he said. “It’s clear from the infection in other countries that was very much the right decision, a big call and the right call”. Mr Gilbert said even his worst critics “would say they have [handled the coronavirus] well”.

Parliament should order 'urgent review' into right wing extremeism | Sky News AustraliaLabor backbencher Ed Husic is calling on the parliament’s intelligence and security committee to launch an “urgent review” into right-wing extremism after the head of Australia’s spy agency flagged it as a major area of concern. \n\nIn a rare speech, ASIO boss Mike Burgess sounded the alarm over the rise of right-wing extremism in Australia. \n\nMr Husic told Sky News a review was necessary and condemned Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton for saying it did not matter where the ideology came from. \n\n“Nowhere beyond the mouth of the home affairs minister have people been talking about so-called left-wing extremism,” he said. \n\n“The fact the home affairs minister sought to inject that level of politicisation into this demonstrates more of a reflection of his thinking.\n\n“I would be calling on the government to refer to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security an urgent review into what is happening in respect to right wing extremism in Australia. \n\n'They should definitely as a result of ASIO’s reassessment be initiating that PJCIS inquiry as a matter of haste.” Lest we forget the role Murdoch Media is playing in all this... I wonder if he would be asking for a urgent review of left wing extremism Hmm a Muslim advocating for a probe into right wing extremism after another Muslim stabbed a man in the name of Islam. Good try Ed

'National honours shouldn't be used in political grudge matches': Chris Kenny | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny has taken aim at the Twitter “pile on” against Bettina Arndt following an onslaught of criticism over social media comments made regarding the horrific murder of a Queensland family last week. \n \nMs Arndt has been been under fire on social media for reaffirming controversial comments made by Queensland Police Inspector Mark Thompson after he said a Brisbane man who killed his wife and three children may have been 'driven too far' following the breakdown of his marriage.\n \nThere have been subsequent calls for Ms Ardnt to be stripped of the Order of Australia Medal she recently received for her social commentary on gender equity through advocacy for men.\n \nMr Kenny criticised Arndt’s comments but argued stripping her honour was going too far, saying Twitter users who have dished out “racial slurs and nasty attacks” in the past are now directing hypocritical remarks at conservative politicians and media personalities alike. \n \n“National honours should not be used as weapons in political grudge matches'. People being decorated for merit should in fact have some merit. Course he has....couldn't bear to be with the people! Kenny is another example of how putrid the Fox News of Australia is.
