AUDIO: Google must change policies over suppression breach: NZ Minister

New Zealand's Justice Minister is fuming and says he will rein in tech giant Google, after it reneged on a pledge to change its policies over the breach of a suppression order in a prominent murder case.

Minister Andrew Little says he doesn't accept Google's claim that it was a rare case and that they're not a publisher. A New Zealand court suppressed the name of the accused in the case of murdered British backpacker Grace Millane. But Google sent a link to a story naming the man, in a"what's trending" email sent to thousands of New Zealand subscribers."Google respects New Zealand law and understands the sensitivity around this issue. When we receive valid court orders, including suppression orders, we review and respond appropriately."
