A man has died after an alleged assault outside a kebab shop on the Gold Coast earlier this month.
The 29-year-old sustained serious head injuries on October 1, when he was sitting with friends on a bench on Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise, around 1am. It is alleged that an altercation ensued after two men approached the group and took some of their food. The victim was allegedly punched, lost consciousness, and fell, hitting the back of his head on the ground.
"The man sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday afternoon, October 11, Queensland Police said today.
