At least 40 people have been killed in mass shootings at two mosques full of worshippers attending Friday prayers in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Ten people have been killed at Linwood mosque and a further 30 were killed at the Deans Avenue mosque.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said it was 'one of New Zealand's darkest days' and called the shootings a terrorist attack. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed the man who claims to be the gunman hails from Grafton in New South Wales, triggering an Australian investigation. One of the four suspects in custody, three men and a woman, is an Australian-born citizen, Mr Morrison has confirmed.
