A Channel Nine on-air talent claims she was sexually harassed in public by the network’s former director of news and current affairs Darren Wick, and says she had to “peel him off” her. The presenter, who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity, claimed there was a toxic culture under Wick’s leadership that had sickened other female staff. In one alleged incident, the star claims she had been sexually harassed by Wick when he was intoxicated.
More than a dozen current and former Nine employees reportedly spoke to The Daily Telegraph, on condition of anonymity, about a culture they allege allowed Wick to behave inappropriately and get away with it. One woman told the outlet it had been “difficult for women to work with and under him” for years. “Everybody, women, in particular, has experienced it. Not anything as serious as a physical assault, but a culture that makes it difficult for you to do your work,” she said.
