Back in 1994, the Winfield Commodores were the most successful Holden team in the Ford vs Holden V8 touring car war.If a choice between two car companies seems a weird thing upon which to stake your personal identity, it wasn’t the only binary choice. There were often just two big brand names on offer. There was Ford vs Holden, but also Weet-Bix vs Vita Brits. The products were almost identical, but that didn’t mean the world wasn’t divided between the fans of each.
Bex, on the other hand, had the better slogan, even if it was the result of popular mockery rather than its advertising agency. Anytime you exhibited stress you’d be told to: “Have a cup of tea, a Bex and a good lie-down”.
