Firefighters have declared that all bush and grass fires burning across NSW are contained for the first time this bushfire season.

The rain, which caused widespread flash flooding and storm damage, put out 30 fires on the weekend, the RFS revealed earlier this week.

The Currowan fire burning in the Shoalhaven region was extinguished on Saturday night after burning for 74 days and destroying 312 homes.

Usually the pattern during bushfire seasons........weather changes.

Wow!

The fires will be back. Be nice if we funded the firefighters properly, and resourced them better. But we won't. Because subsidies for fossil fuel corporations is more important it seems

MSMWatchdog2013 Define 'bushfire season'. When did it start? May? July? October? When will it end?

Can we stop hearing about them in Perth now?

Thank goodness for climate change bringing the rain event.
