As rugby superstar Israel Folau’s fate gets decided today, the fallout from his social media antics still runs deep.

They’re a community firm in their beliefs, now forced to be reluctant in sharing their - what can be divisive - religious views publicly.

“I think this has been a lesson for people who are a lot more worried about saying their faith,” Dr Steen said.“I think there is a time and place for when you say your faith but as long as that is said in a way that is not divisive.” One Tongan lawyer told news.com.au if anyone else in their community shared the post Folau did, there would not be such uproar. On the eve of an internal code of conduct hearing for Folau’s appeal against Rugby Australia’s move to terminate his contract, the first Tongan to represent Australia toldIsrael Folau cries while delivering an Easter sermon.

Dr Tangikina Moimoi Steen, a Tongan researcher at the University of Australia, said people had to be responsible for what they said. “I’m a Christian too but as a model to the community I wouldn’t go there, purporting to incite fear, hate and othering, when we’re supposed to bring people together.”

No longer allowed to have beliefs and express them religionisdead. Lets also put a price on freedom of speech FreedomOfSpeech

It's the Left's intolerance of Christianity. So much for diversity

Australia needs to make a choice between secular human rights vs freedom of religion. Because many religions are REALLY bad on human rights.

Australia is a secular society we do not tolerate having religious messages pushed down our throats from business and sports platforms. This maybe accepted in some South Sea Islands but not in Australia.

Ain’t we the “lucky” country........

1/2 If you don’t share his views and beliefs - simply unfollow him. If you want to use social media for your “outrage” and “shaming” - don’t assume that the person being shamed actually cares about your and your audiences opinions.

Australia religious prosecutions are alarming.

When people put their FINGER TOWARD THE SKY it's proof that God isn't really INDWELLING them .. the Muslims do it too .. and 'God - Jesus' doesn't INDWELL them either .. Amen?..

He has done nothing wrong, if he is penalised then God help the rest of us....whatever happened to independence and individualism?

It is a disgrace that he has been treated like this - im not saying i agree with his comments but he is allowed his opinion and freedom of speech is more important then 'not hurting peoples feelings' our society is oging backwards Hardenup heiswrongbutheisalllowed2be

Legal hurdles on both sides: the Folau 'free speech' case explainedAs rugby star Israel Folau fights for both his career and his religious convictions this weekend, a senior lecturer in employment law lays out the arguments. Tell these PC morons to piss-off. Your religion is you right and free speech and opinion is is not to be controlled by these Muslims that have infiltrated our countries with their barbaric ways. Given that ScottMorrisonMP holds exactly the same beliefs as IzzyFolau and refused to vote on the same sex marriage legislation this should prove interesting Wonder how many actually sympathise with Israel vs how many embrace the political correct ideology of gender driven feminist journalists, politicians and inner city elites?

'Might as well sack me': Israel Folau firestorm takes a dramatic twistRugby Australia is facing a potential Polynesian player mutiny after one of the Wallabies' most exciting prospects claimed all Pacific Islanders 'might as well just be sacked' because of their religious beliefs. A man who believes in the 72 virgins in paradise said all gays should be killed now. His reward was a private dinner with the then PM. Another man who believes in the hereafter & preaches love said gays and other sinners will go to hell if they don’t repent. He lost his career.😔 It is time the walked out on the weak livered RA and the gutless players who don’t support a fellow player who has done nothing wrong. 👍✌❤

Israeli Eurovision champion Netta Barzilai says boycott calls spread 'darkness'Celebrities and activists have made continued calls for Eurovision to boycott Israel, but last year's winner Netta Barzilai says that contradicts everything the contest stands for. Actually Eurovision is just a trashy music event. Israel is an apartheid state committing genocide. Last year's winner is an Israeli and essentially an ambassador on behalf of Israel, of course she would say that. Israel uses these cultural events to white-wash the oppression, murder and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and to present itself as a beacon of Western civilization. The idea that this event will serve as some kind of bridge of peace is delusional. Netta Barzilai obviously forgets that apartheid Israel does not allow the absolute majority of Palestinians to share the stage, simply because they are Palestinians. BDS BoycottEurovision2019 ESC2019

Folau breaks down during church sermon | Sky News AustraliaWallabies fullback Israel Folau has broken down while delivering a sermon about being asked to compromise values. \n\nFolau will face a Rugby Australia code of conduct hearing on Saturday as he fights to keep his $4 million contract.\n\nThe sermon, reportedly from Easter Sunday, references a bible verse where three men stood up for their beliefs under the threat of death. \n\n\n\n\n\n Does he know that tattoos are looked down on by the Bible? Working on the sabbath? No one is asking him to compromise his values. More to keep social media activity in check. Wake me up when Folau breaks down over the abuse, the corruption, the lies, the cover-ups in his church. The damage that christianity has caused in our islands - I just can't.

Taniela Tupou, can I ask you, what would Jesus do?After your post in support of Israel Folau, Taniela Tupou, can we do a little thought experiment? Peter_Fitz Wrong person Showbag, this guy plays front row. Peter_Fitz Jesus would say go and sin no more. The simple fact is the fornicaters and drunks don’t seem very worried by the comments . Peter_Fitz The guy’s a moron, Fitzy- and his ilk have made the Wallabies the laughing stock of world rugby- let them take their skills (or lack thereof) elsewhere!

IzzyFolau This is the result of freedom of speech! If you want to speak your mind, suck it up and deal with the consequences to what you say. DontCare IzzyFolau Cry me a river, seriously - you think you have it hard? What about all the groups you slagged off in your public rants; they don't 'choose' their way of life, which is WAY harder than your privileged lifestyle. IzzyFolau Thoughts and prayers.

Wallabies face player divide over religious beliefsRugby Australia faces a significant player divide as Taniela Tupou leaps to the defence of Reds captain Samu Kerevi's right to express his religious beliefs, while the Israel Folau case draws to its conclusion. Tightened player contracts could alleviate that problem. How much tax dollars are being wasted on this sport? Seems NRL doesn't pay any tax, nor does it pay for any of its infrastructure. Who cares what the religious beliefs, or any other beliefs for that matter, of athletes & rugby players are? And why do these ppl feel a need to express their beliefs anyway... did someone ask them to?

Tupou supports Folau saying all Pacific Islanders 'might as well just be sacked'Just days out from Israel Folau’s Rugby Australia code of conduct hearing, his teammate Taniela Tupou has hit out over what he feels is the targeting of Pacific Islanders over their religious beliefs. Absolutely true. Seems like the left-wing love immigrants provided they assimilate to Western progressive values and lose their culture. How is it so difficult for these guys to understand the law? If they can’t accept the anti-discrimination laws, then don’t play for Australia. Too easy. Amene! God bless all Pacific Island players who stand up for their faith and not let any Rugby code dictate your beliefs. 😊
