NSW firefighters are preparing for strong winds to whip-up bushfires after a brief reprieve overnight.

Up to 1,500 crews spent Thursday night battling bushfires, which burned on the outskirts of Sydney, and across northern and southern parts of the state.

None are currently at emergency level. There are reports of three firefighters injured and homes have been destroyed, but impact assessment crews are yet to confirm how many. Image: Getty

Liberal party has cut National Park budgets over the last several years. Hard to find a ranger now other than in the gift shop. NSW Liberals didn't fill many firefighting roles to save money in the parks either. Sad really adding to risk lives for dollars saved.
