A makeshift field hospital has been set up in New York City’s Central Park in just 48 hours to house COVID-19 patients – providing relief for the heathcare system in the US’ worst-plagued city.

Sickened patients in the park-based hospital will be treated by medics used to working in areas hit by hurricanes, earthquakes and in war-torn areas – with locals allowed to continue visiting the park and walk around the intensive care unit.

Its establishment is aided by the arrival of a 1,000-bed hospital ship which will manage non-COVID-19 patients. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said “we’ve lost over 1,000 New Yorkers”. “To me, we’re beyond staggering already. We’ve reached staggering.” Image: AP

Also not taking into account the flood of cruise ships unloaded the days before. Idiot reporting.

One controversial aspect of Trump's response to COVID-19 is rightDemocratic nations need to maintain awareness of how China’s authoritarian system let the pandemic slip. Wow did the SMH actually praise trump for once? Am I dreaming? He’s getting a lot of it right, that doesn’t suit the narrative though so don’t expect to read a lot about it. *NOTE* Tedros Adhanom Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is an Ethiopian politician and academic who has been Director-General of the World Health Organization since 2017 ~Wikipedia~
