Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the legislation introducing a federal anti-corruption watchdog will be moved in Parliament this Wednesday.

Mr Clennell said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is to return from his trip to Japan for Shinzo Abe’s funeral in time to see it moved.

“The new federal ICAC will not be as tough as the controversial NSW body. It will investigate politicians and it will investigate serious and systemic corrupt conduct, but not issues like pork-barreling as some who have advocated for the body have suggested,” Mr Clennell said. “It will have public hearings, but only if there is a public interest in doing so according to the legislation, is my understanding, so a softer test than the NSW body. It will also not seek to usurp existing bodies which examine wrongdoing.”

More debt, let the senator's investigate and refer any criminal behaviour to the police. I'm ok if the senate is packed with all Labor senator's just to shut people up. It's as if are governments introduce legislation on what's trending or even just being said on twitter FFS.

Young NSW teachers quitting in record numbersThe rate of early career teachers quitting in their first five years surged to 11.6 per cent in 2021, up 50 per cent compared to the previous year. daniellamariewh I don't blame them, what smart person would want to teach these kids that cannot be disciplined. daniellamariewh Too many bureaucrats made the profession utterly miserable. Cut back the red tape and let teachers teach. Sometimes you will get good teachers sometimes bad, stop hamstringing the good ones because of the bad. daniellamariewh I thought the results of the first prospective randomised control trial for younger teenagers warranted your attention. Hope you didn't inject your kids! 😮
