The Morrison government says it will spend $24 million to assist the temporary widening of telehealth consultations through GPs and other specialists due to the high COVID-19 infection rate from the Omicron outbreak.

The Morrison government says it will provide additional funding to assist the temporary widening of telehealth consultations through GPs and other specialists due to the high infection rate from the Omicron outbreak.

The $24 million will also cover the continued supply of personal protective equipment, such as masks, respirators, face shields and gowns for face-to-face consultations including patients that have tested positive through a rapid antigen test. The latter aligns with national cabinet's 5 January decision that RAT tests no longer need to be confirmed by a PCR test.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said telehealth had been a vital support during the pandemic, providing greater flexibility in healthcare delivery at the most critical time and continues to be a fundamental part of the pandemic response.

"Enabling specialist medical practitioners to provide telehealth consultations to hospital in-patients as a temporary measure will support continuity of care for patients when their doctor cannot attend the hospital due to COVID-19 restrictions."

That’s not even $1 per Australian. I wonder if this is a weekend joke to celebrate the successful crucifixion of Djokovic by the Banana Republic of Scomo.

Temporary!

Small change out of their 16 billion dollar election war chest

Telehealth should be a regular thing.

COVID is a lung disease 2 proven tests to tell if your lungs are healthy and a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet for lung inflammation to avoid any complications

What a wanker. He just cut them off!! Don't see 'reinstate' anywhere there, guess he doesn't want to draw attention to what he did 🤬🤬🤬

So $24million(24,000,000) for the Telehealth $62million(62,000,000) on RATs(which LNP will double charge us) versus $16billion (16,000,000,000)for them to bribe us to Re-elect them.

One-in-20 Queensland Health staff off work as Omicron wave bitesThe data comes as Health Minister Yvette D’Ath flagged the possibility of new hospital visitor limits and staffing concerns at an aged-care facility amid 19,709 new infections reported on Saturday. Begs the question why all those nurses and doctors were just fired or forced to resign... I'm off, but if I could just get my results maybe I could go back. While the economy would have taken a hit by closing the Australian boarder completely I believe it would not have been nearly as bad as the devastation caused by Omicron now.

Why omicron will not be the last strainThe speed and scope of the omicron wave sweeping the world means one thing is nearly certain, scientists say: more mutant variants are coming. Which must be why politicians keep assuring us we will “get through this”? I suppose they would be with Africa only 15% vaccinated and other countries barely 50% vaccinated 2 years into a pandemic Oh no! Looks like the MSM is back to stating the obvious again. This can only mean that ratings are down and they need new fear porn material. As an added benefit this will prompt sheeple into demanding more boosters and restrictions, creating an ongoing loop of sensational news.

'Postponing New Year's resolutions': How the Omicron outbreak is smashing gymsHopes of a fitness sector recovery after two years of COVID-19 interruptions have been dashed, as the Omicron outbreak keeps people away from gyms and trainers turn their back on the industry. If people have a roof they can exercise, even running on the spot does it. Health First and Stay Safe. Perhaps Fitness Australia can use this as an opportunity to weed out the moron PT’s who do a 2 month course and call themselves experts. The prices PTs attempt to charge should require a degree qualification.
