“Frankly, it is probably a good thing for the Liberal Party if Tony Abbott is not in the caucus room,” he said.Julie Bishop said the result meant the party needed to rethink its position on climate change.Ms Bishop said she was “very sad” to see Mr Abbott lose, but did not mince words about why he lost.“Warringah had one of the highest votes in support of same-sex marriage and Tony abstained. That did him a lot of damage.”“Tony destabilised Malcolm’s leadership,” she said.
