Elias Anderson is going to watch his beloved Western Bulldogs this weekend, but he won't be able to see the players because of his old and broken wheelchair.

Ms Anderson said they first applied for a new chair in April 2017 when they contacted the Victorian Government-based State-wide Equipment Program .

After an NDIS plan was drawn up, it was sent to the NDIA's assistive technology team. Ms Anderson said they were still waiting to get approval five months later. In a statement, a spokeswoman for the NDIA said the agency"has contacted Elias's family to work with them to address their concerns". "The NDIA continues to work with Elias's family to collect information from supporting allied health specialists to ensure Elias receives the necessary supports that best meet his needs.

How embarrassing

I do hope that they are able to take comfort in knowing that the money due to them is part of our 'surplus'.

No surprises there.ridiculous wait times.planners who don't write up your goals correctly, so you can't get stuff cause its not in your plan. Friend was told she had a choice did she want to have someone put her to bed at night or they could make her dinner, she couldnt get both

Its been two years, can't the family afford a wheel chair? WHY is it 'someone else's' 'The Government''s primary responsibility to care for a member of the family? Isn't it first and foremost the responsibility of the family? Just asking.

An acquaintance of mine had to wait so long for approvals for a wheelchair by the time they built it she had deterorated to the point she needed a new design and so it began all over again .. three built and unsuitable unused chairs later .. she died

Won’t be long til a resolution now I imagine.

Family picnic allegedly circled by car 'going sideways' in suspected Islamophobic attackA man has been accused of terrorising a family on a day out in NSW, with police alleging he drove his vehicle within metres of young children while making death threats. Magistrate Stoddart described the alleged incident as an 'atrocious attack'. Interesting description given there was not any physical contact or injury. One trusts the magistrate has far more forceful language in reserve for an attack occasioning actual bodily harm. Any proof it really happened? Not the first time. 'He has also now been referred to the Fixated Persons Unit for assessment.' So yet another violent delusional sociopath. One has to wonder how much methamphetamine etc. is causing some of these guys to go psychotic, if they have a preexisting mental health vulnerability.

'Blinded by its greed': Boeing sued by family of passenger in Ethiopian Air 737 crashThe parents of Samya Stumo, 24, allege Boeing rushed the 737 Max 8 to market with the 'knowledge and tacit approval' of the FAA, while hiding defects in its planes. Withdraw the Boeing 737 MAX 8 certification and undo all modifications. I would allege the modifications breached sound aeronautical engineering practice and moved the C of G to a point that stalls could occur more quickly and MCAS was installed to mitigate the problem.
