NDIS underspend 'won't last' | Sky News AustraliaThe National Disability Insurance Scheme is a full year behind schedule with a $1.6 billion underspend, but costs will climb to almost $25 billion in just four years, the budget papers show.\n\nThe Australian's social affairs writer Rick Morton told Sky News that the 2019-20 year was supposed to be the first full year of the NDIS when it was projected to reach 460,000 participants across the country, but instead, there are only about 250,000 participants.\n\nMr Morton says a $22bn price tag for this year has been reduced to an estimated spend of $17.5bn. \n\nIn 2020-21 the cost hits $22.2bn, before climbing to $23.5bn and $24.8bn in the final year of the forward estimates.\n\nMr Morton says the system is 'complicated' and is 'still being built' ahead of its full rollout.\n\n\n\n I love Peta Credlin ..... I would vote for her in a heartbeat ....probably THE smartest political commentator in Australia .....2nd to NONE. Ihope they are not relying on you for support NDIS is a Labor brain child that was not costed correctly (like most policies)good in theory but unfundable & should be funded through Medicare

Air pollution cuts life expectancy by 20 months: report | Sky News AustraliaA major new study has revealed worldwide air pollution will cut the life expectancy of children by an average of 20 months. \n\nAccording to the 2019 State of Global Air report, toxic air is the fifth leading cause of death across the world, responsible for more fatalities than alcohol, malnutrition and drugs. \n\nCountries in Asia and Africa are the most vulnerable because of the rising household use of fuels such as coal and charcoal.\n\nWhile young children are particularly at risk, the elderly make up almost nine out of every 10 deaths caused by air pollution. \n\n\n\n But hey, lets keep our economy dependent on coal But Sky, your Bolts and Credlins facilitate and perpetuate this situation. Electric vehicles are so bolshi, remember? This is activism of the worst kind. The report highlights the use of coal and carbon in Third World. This is similar to 18th century open hearth burning of coal in Europe when deaths were also very high. No relationship with HELE coal energy. Very poor misleading tweet.
