has announced the details of a $30 million royal commission into the Robodebt scandal, which led to a $1.8 billion class action settlement between victims and the federal government.
The inquiry will probe the implementation of the disastrous scheme by the former coalition government and how it was allowed to continue for more than four years. Other former government ministers expected to be drawn into the investigation are Alan Tudge and Stuart Robert, who both acted as social services minister during various iterations the scheme, and former attorney general Christian Porter.
The handling of concerns raised about the scheme, including adverse decisions made by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal; The automated scheme made use of data matching algorithms. It assessed annual income data from the Australian Tax Office against fortnightly Centrelink welfare payments.
And in 6 years when the Libs are voted back in it will be a Royal Commission into some fiasco the Labor Girls did -- cycle, cycle and cycle same old crap
Let’s know the truth at last.
Let's piss some more tax payers money up the wall.
'Fiasco', I think one of the most disgraceful acts by a government in our political history deserves a more serious description than 'fiasco'......wake up to yourselves '9news Australia'.!!!
The data matching program for Centrelink & the ATO was announced by Tanya Plibersek & Bill Shorten in June 2011. Morrison govt used the program created for Labor.
Don't forget shorten and the unions
Haha, memo went out today.
I believe that it is time for all Australians to request that an external auditor should be appointed on behalf of every Australian, to ensure that everyone is held accountable and that ministers and politicians be wary that they are now monitored.
Corrupt Police, Corrupt Politians, Corrupt Judicial System. They are meant to act on our behalf as Australian Citizens, their wages in comparison to ordinary Australians are astonishingly much greater than the people whom elected them into authority.
Ministers who responsible for this to happen and death of a teenager should be send to prison..it’s a criminal act..
And 2000 deaths.
And 2000 Australians suicided-
Created by Bill and Tanya. 🙄
Bill shorten was the creatures of it
Governing via rear view window. Are we to fund a royal commission on everything? You’re in govt now…start governing! If you disagree with previous policy, change it. This is a costly political exercise with no benefit to anyone except flinging mud at the other side. Time to lead
Time they got out of election mode and started governing for ALL Australians. If that's possible
Bill and Tanya came up with this?
Hey ScottMorrisonMP stuartrobertmp PeterDutton_MP AlanTudgeMP PUKKA-UP Lads you're gunna be famous RoboDebtRc
Geezus. What about the contracts with Pfizer.
It was a failed system since the time billshortenmp set it up. It’s not a matter of it getting away. It was structurally wrong? Will the Royal Commission review Labor’s stupidity.
And caused the deaths of 2000 vulnerable Australians
The Morrison government? Didn't the AustralianLabor led Senate Inquiry do their job properly? Wasn't the class action settled? How will this help stem rising costs and interest rates and no wage increase? Yet again your government ignoring what is important to Australians
Idiot
We will have justice!
