“Because I can assure you, I traipsed every single website, blog, TikTok account about moving to Australia and living your best life in 2023, and guess what, not one of them mentioned any of this f****** stuff.”“I do now understand what this means, it means ‘how are you doing?’,” Charlee said about the classic Aussie greeting.“When I first came here in November and someone asked me how I was going, I told them I was going to the supermarket.

“This is one of the things that is still throwing me and I have been driving here for 10 days now,” Charlee said. “If you want to indicate, your indicators are only on the right hand side of your steering wheel, you flick them down if you want to go right, you flick them up if you want to go left. “Please don’t do what I do and get to a roundabout in rush hour with lots of crazy scary Australians driving behind you all wanting to get home and sit outside in their flip-flops and singlets, because when I go to a roundabout, and I hit indicate, I set my window-wipers off like f****** crazy.TikTok/@CharleedownunderCharlee said that in the UK, after you’ve come to a stop at a red light, it then goes from red to amber to green.

We can pick on other countries for their idiosyncrasies. UK speak..... e.g immegiately? Since when did immediately have a G in it? SinGing, rinGing etc? Why a hard G sound in the middle. A washing machine in your kitchen? Carpet in the bathroom? We are all different

👆🏻People get troubled by such tiny things. None of these things ever bothered me!! 😁😁

Just another whinging Pom

Oh this is definitely one on the list! It's so incredibly offensive, I just wanted to gouge out my own eyes

I took the bait, and listened to this 53 SEC garble! Crap!

First world problems 😂

They are always the same words

Ch7 taking a leaf from 'newsdotcomdotau' by trawling social media for filler. These stupid videos have been done to death and you're way too late in the game.

I admire how the English call themselves Expats. when really they are immigrants

having a go at Aussie slang, when many British accents are so thick they can hardly be understood, unless she is from the upper class it is a country in which both language and culture are in decline.

Two words and it ends with OFF!

I lived in England for a year and the first time someone said to me 'you alright' I thought they were asking about my health and so went into it in some detail but they were merely asking how are you going? And don't get me started on Aye oop, a greeting used in Yorkshire.

Why are white people called expats and everyone else immigrants.

Is your news in such short supply that you have to resort to this kind of rubbish. FGS give it a rest and report stuff we want to know about instead of promoting crap!

Classic arrogant Brit who wants everywhere else to be where she came from.

....a clear sign the 'news' is dumbed down.

Only 6 😂

Ever heard the saying “whinging Pom” Also if your driving you should not be using your phone.

Numbskull !

1 trip here doesn't make you an expert 😂 Bit insensitive to share that country a day after Aussie/remembrance or whatever it's gunna be called soon Like, are you forgetting who started all that 🤦

‘Overwhelming’: David Nduwimana’s rise from refugee to national performerMusician David Nduwimana reveals how he has gone from arriving in Australia as a refugee to performing the national anthem at the Australia Day Live Concert in front of the steps of the Sydney Opera House. Mr Nduwimana said a few years after arriving in Australia, he met former Rugby Australia CEO Rob Clarke. “In 2017, I had a conversation with him. This is according to survey findings from AMES Australia, an agency working with refugees and migrants settling in the country. AMES Australia CEO Cath Scarth says most people said that it was “very important” to mark a national day but don’t understand the significance of January 26. “I think for them, many come from countries where they haven’t been able to celebrate … and so the idea of a national day is very important,” she told Sky News Australia.
