Laurie John Junior Dodd, who has a history of escaping custody, fled from Royal Perth Hospital about 12.40pm on Saturday.A 6PR radio listener, known only as Dylan, said he saw up to 20 police officers, mostly plain clothed, chase Dodd behind the nearby tavern.Officers became aware of Dodd's location about 10.30am, after he was spotted in a car driving with his partner.
Two officers from contracting firm Broadspectrum were guarding Dodd while he was in hospital but one reportedly left to get lunch.
