Victoria's pollution watchdog had "unacceptable" practices that failed to properly monitor and track dangerous chemicals and sites across the state, a scathing report into the Environmental Protection Authority has found.
There was also a lack of information sharing and staff did not act on intelligence about potentially dangerous issues. But the inspection record showed that an inspection was conducted in response to a Victoria Police report of suspected illegal chemical waste storage.
