Liberal MP Craig Kelly says without an electric vehicle tax, someone who drives a Ute in Western Sydney would end up subsiding for someone “paying $100,000 for a Tesla” and driving it around the inner-city suburbs of Sydney. It comes regarding recent news South Australia is planning to make electric car owners pay to use the road as a fairness measure, given people that drive petrol or diesel cars pay for road upkeep via the excise or tax on fuel.

And that goes to the roads.
