Eddie McGuire has accused a Channel 9 star of scripting questions to make him “look bad” after two heated stoushes in one wild night.

The Collingwood president saw his heart rate go through the roof on multiple occasions and it all boiled down to one simple reason, AFL team memberships and refunds.

When McGuire refused to give a straight answer and was pulled up by Footy Show host Tony Jones during a live interview, the media mogul angrily accused Jones of trying to “get a headline” with a “smart a***” line of questioning.on Wednesday night where he found himself being pressed by journalist Caroline Wilson.

“We are talking about the football world at the moment. A couple of weeks ago it was the greedy administrators, who then took a major pay cut. It was the greedy players, last Wednesday I said this will get sorted out, and it did within two days.

Another channel 9 bloop!

You did a good job making yourself look bad on this one Eddie. Usually Tony Jones does a ripper job doing himself in, but this time it’s you to yourself Ed

Eddie is quite capable of making himself look bad doesn’t need to be led!

Well done Eddie

That's the problem with McGuire - he didn't expect 'real' questions from a Channel 9 reporter - and, quite frankly, I was surprised too. I was just waiting for TJ to ask him about his diet, and what his favourite colour was...

What a grub of a man. Hope this all brings the finish of his media grandstanding.

Eddie does not need Channel 9 to look bad, just saying

It would be a good thing if football codes went extinct after the virus is controlled. All the people who would have developed head trauma dementia will be saved and the health system won't be burdened with them.

Everything is scripted ... everything

C'mon Eddie if it's money your worried about to keep Collingwood FC afloat how about you put your own money in and let people who are really struggling and aren't seeing AFL games theirs back. Good public relations maybe handy on this occasion.

If you read between the lines, they would refund but on a case by case basis.

It was staged

It’s a Yes or No question

Trying to turn a membership into a donation. Without the permission of the member it’s theft..... Many members paid when they had a job and thought they would see a game. They don’t and they won’t. FFS it’s just a footy club....

Interesting JURNO'S GETTING UPSET OVER HEAD LINES THE PUBLIC/ GOVT PUT UP WITH THIS DAILY WHEN ITS REVERSED JURNOS DONT LIKE. SUCK IT UP.......

It's the New Age of 'Waleed Aly and Hamish McDonald' style of guilt tripping questions. Just ugly journalism that paints people as monsters over trivial matters

Unconscionable what about all the charity work the afl clubs do you help others let's try and not cause friction between groups try and work together some may need a refund but no need to turn it into a massive deal when this is all over do we want to play n watch afl

Rip it to him Eddie

When coronavirus 'is said and done' Australia must be more 'self-reliant' in the future | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Peta Credlin says she agrees with Foreign Minister Peter Dutton's stance that Australia must put our country's needs first during the coronavirus crisis and only help others after “we’ve looked after ourselves”. \n\n“With so much happening under the hammer blows of the corona crisis, it's not surprising that there's a bit of mixed messaging going on,” Ms Credlin said. \n\n“I suppose, at one level, the government has to mouth the economic lines about free trade - because in a perfect world free trade would maximise our wealth”. \n\nHowever, “When it comes to putting Australia first, I'm with Dutton,” she said.\n\n“It's only once we've looked after ourselves when it comes to medical equipment and health supplies - and, indeed, all the basics that a country might need in a crisis that we can start supplying it to others”. \n\nMs Credlin said, after the effects of this virus are felt, as a nation “above all else … we must end up a more self-reliant country”. \n\nShe also said our politicians, on both sides of the political spectrum, must conduct plenty of “soul-searching” in the future. \n\n“Hopefully it will mean an end to globalism trumping Australia's national interest, and a serious realisation as to China's security, and economic, end game”. \n\nImage: Getty How does the Ruby Princess fit in with this? auspol Ffs you horrible pos So peter is alive?
