When we asked if the hotel outbreaks could be linked to the second wave, I was given a long explanation as to why this was likely off track. I agree Premier Daniel Andrews is ultimately responsible and should have acted, too. He faces the media almost every day, but he didn’t on June 13.

I blame the media baying for blood, a scapegoat. Jenny Mikakis didn't cause the hotel quarantine leakage. Only 2 hotels were affected by lack of appropriate management, supervision and training.

Not being thrown under the bus. More like: You're drowning, so just going too sit and watch. Bad optics at the end of the day for the govnt no matter how you see their performances. No government officials EVER work solo. Team both shared blame and kudos in this legal minefield.

they setup hotel quarantine because some people could not be trusted to stay at home for 14 days .. so the government thought people are happy to stay in a hotel room for 14 days straight without wanting to go out ? but out of the blue appears security guards manning the hotel ?
It’s called ministerial responsibility and we haven’t seen its consequences in a very, very long time in Australia. Kudos to Ms Mikakos.
