The US House of Representatives has voted for a second time to impeach President Donald Trump, but he will not face trial until after his term ends. Here's what that could mean.

, just days before the end of his term, making him the only president in American history to be impeached twice.

The next step of the two-part impeachment process is a trial in the Senate, which would usually rule on whether a sitting president is guilty of a"high crime or misdemeanour" and should be removed from office. The Senate's Republican leader, Mitch McConnell, has ruled out reconvening the chamber before its scheduled restart on 19 January, one day before President-Elect Joe Biden's inauguration, stating that a"fair or serious" trial could not be conducted in such a short timeframe.

This means the trial will almost definitely occur during Mr Biden's presidency, but it is currently unclear when. The start of a new administration is typically a busy time in Congress. The Senate will be juggling confirmation hearings for Mr Biden's new cabinet nominees and the drafting of legislation related to the pandemic response.

If at first you don’t succeed, try again, & again.....

Mitch McConnell any future violence will now be on your hands. Dangerous hand to play, Trump knows he is going down and by not removing him now and taking away his power to do more harm your allowing a madman time to take revenge.

Pelosi loves trump

2024 Republican presidential nominee: ‘Donald Trump or someone from Trump-wing’ | Sky News AustraliaThe Republican presidential nominee in 2024 will either be Donald Trump or 'someone from the Trump wing” of the GOP, according to novelist Roger L. Simon.\n\nFormer President Donald Trump was acquitted in the impeachment trial on Saturday (local time) as the Senate could not come up with the required two-thirds majority to convict him.\n\nSeven Republicans broke ranks to vote to convict the president taking the vote to 57-43, but the Democrats needed 17 GOP Senators to vote with them to achieve what would be a landmark victory.\n\nThe acquittal means Donald Trump will be able to run for president again in 2024 if he chooses to contest the Republican Party’s nomination.\n\nMr Simon said the Republicans who voted against the former president and voted guilty in this “farcical impeachment” were mostly people who “don’t expect to run for office again”.\n\n“It will be Trump or someone from the Trump wing of the Republican Party,” he said.\n\nHe pointed to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a potential Trumpian successor and the “guy everybody’s been talking about”.\n\n“He’s very smart and I think he’s better at being Trump maybe in some ways than Trump.”\n Music to my ears! Bring it on snowflakes ❄️ Looks like MURDOCH MEDIA HOONS have been digging the bottom of the cyberspace barrell again to find someone that suits their agenda namely this 'novelist Roger L.
