Novak Djokovic’s legal team is “considering their options” following the Immigration Minister’s move to cancel the world No. 1’s visa.

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke brought the ongoing saga around Djokovic’s vaccine exemption to an end, confirming the tennis star's visa would be cancelled on Friday afternoon.

“Together we have achieved one of the lowest death rates, strongest economies and highest vaccination rates, in the world. While the Minister has the discretion to cancel the visa under section 133c of the Migration Act, Djokovic is expected to appeal the decision before the Australian Open kicks off on Monday.

"Today I exercised my power under section 133C of the Migration Act to cancel the visa held by Mr Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so," the Immigration Minister said. “I thank the officers of the Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force who work every day to serve Australia’s interests in increasingly challenging operational environments.”

The only mistake Djokovic has made is underestimating the vindictiveness of so many Australians. Is this being encouraged by the Murdoch media still upset they are not broadcasting the tennis. Sour grapes

Put novac on the first plane out

Scrap all the rules. Everyone is mad at the wrong person

Options are simple, back to court and win again.

Better not convene a special court sitting for a entertainer just so this entitled elite can hit a ball with a racquet! Oh can’t tell me that there aren’t more important issues that courts should be hearing ahead of this, some waiting months for their turn!

Perhaps while they are deporting ND they can deport these opportunistic money-making lawyers too? Of course if they offer to as rigorously represent (on a pro bono basis) all the refugees seeking entry here, they might serve a more useful purpose.

Goodbye No 1 liar

Classic

Be a man and walk away, admitt your mistakes stop blaming your team. Save what little respect the Australian public have for you due to your arrogance and selfish attitude.

Tweet of the bleeding obvious.

The joys of government

Consider yourselfs....many Australians families couldn't return home because they were not vaccinated..... Who the hell is this joker to get special attention.... The Joke is on the Australian people

HE NEEDS TO LEAVE !!

On ya bike son

He should have been turned around at the airport on the night he arrived.

He'll play in the tournament

Enough is enough. Rules are rules! DjokerNole

I hope he appeals. These extraordinary powers of the minister being able to overturn decisions of the court is very concerning.

Australia overruled judges ! This makes you an authoritarian regime dictaturship

Are they also considering any challenges to the Serbian Covid breaches, plus the Spanish 'non declaration/no vaccination' issues Needless to say, the Australian entry documents, also.

They would have already considered the options.

Morrison should rebrand LNP to CCP.

Time to do one, Djoko. Before it gets embarrassing for you.

The Australian Government need to send NovakDjokovic to the Christmas Island Detention Facility while awaiting deportation. They have a tennis court he can practice on. He could pay refugees to fetch his tennis balls that go over the fence. AustralianOpen2022

Just go

Now Craig Tiley should step down.
