Protesters who converged on the Shrine of Remembrance on Wednesday have been slammed by an ADF veteran who described their actions as un-Australian and “disgusting”.

“The police, they don’t deserve this, getting attacked. They are just doing the job the government - Mr Andrews, not the Chief Health Officer - but what Daniel Andrews is telling them to do,” he said.

All construction workers are required to show evidence to their employer that they have had a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 11.59pm on September 23. The war memorial has been the focal point of Wednesday’s protest action with activists chanting “freedom” and “every day” followed by clapping and cheering.

The veteran admitted he “didn’t want to get the vax” but had received it after realising he would not be able to live a normal life without it. He revealed he had attended Anzac Day celebrations which were severely limited by the Andrews government due to the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Sky News Australia searches high and low and can only find a single 20 year veteran to condem a freedom protest in a place that symbolises freedom.

Not the right way to make a point. But no one is listening. No jab no job will be the biggest national blunder the world has done. Vote liberal labour out they are not for Australians choices but communism will rule we are truly in the hands of madmen dictators

Whoever runs the twitter portion of skynews sucks at their job. Theey actually have some pretty good hosts telling a lot of truth, but it never makes it to twitter. Bizarre. Anyway...watching from US...your police are Nazi's.

In Italy if you are not vaxed you can get a rapid test and go to work for 48 hrs before needing to get another one, why can't Australia do that too? Everyone could work.

Sky and the Herald Sun have been undermining the Victorian public health response since Covid started. You heaped up the kindling, then a bunch of RWNJ dickheads lit the fire. As you always do - playing to our society's nastiest elements.

funny how an Earthquake hits there, God is saying something

Out of interest, all those Aussies in ww2. Why were they sent to the front to fight.? Freedom ? Now those freedoms are being taken away from aussies, by aussie politicians. Why ? Because they refuse to have a vaccine that was rushed into production & hasn't had rigorous testing

Police slam 'cowards' involved in Melbourne protest after making 62 arrestsPolice have condemned the "selfish" and criminal actions of "cowards" involved in the violent protests in Melbourne today after making 62 arrests. Definitely criminal to shoot firearms in a public place without any due care of Victorian citizens getting hit in the Cross fire. Pretty much rule number one when shooting a firearm. I wonder which 'tradie' protesting against 'mandatory vaccines' was the one that brought a Trump 2020 flag? But hey, they're ALL hard-working CFMEU members tired of Dictator Dan!!! /s Criminal scenes, like shooting unarmed civilians with rubber bullets, is that what what you mean?

What Melbourne's violent protests reveal about the far-right's recruiting capabilitiesFar right nationalists, anti-vaxxers, libertarians and conspiracy theorists have come together over COVID, and capitalised on the anger and uncertainty simmering in some sections of the community, writes Josh Roose. What's with the live helicopters following 20 neonazi antivax bogans around Melbourne? Do Scottys state media do free advertising for his base now? All its revealed is our premieres are excited about this like its their plans coming together. None of the premieres sound or appear like they want peace or to get along, their fighting each other even! The premieres appear like they're working for Taliban Brown shirts under the bed. Apparently if you disagree with the liberal elites & their far left enforcers you must be a Nazi.

Two week shutdown of construction industry expected following violent Melbourne protestsViolent protests in Melbourne's CBD may trigger a complete shutdown of all construction work in the city. I am a die hard unionist and former delegate but consider builders unionist pussies. Can't work in the rain or without break rooms or vaccinate. Get to over yourselves. Think of the collective not yourselves. Freedom is for all not some. Sucked in. It’s their own fault. Typical unions. Don’t these construction workers realise that they are all replaceable To make out that this is just about protests would mean to ignore the bigger picture. Let's not forget the 70% non-compliance reported last week and that construction sites have become major transmission locations due to this stubborn non-compliance.
